Alfonso Cordoba el Brujo es una figura aparte en la historia de la música afro-colombiana. Nacido en Bebarama, medio Atrato y luego radicado en Quibdo, este compositor, poeta, ebanista, filosofo, es uno de los iconos culturales del pacifico Colombiano.
Grabo numerosas producciones musicales con sellos como Discos Fuentes, y con grandes musicos como Alexis Lozano.

Esta cancion fue grabada con el sello Palenque Records en el año 2007.

Alfonso Cordoba el Brujo is a unique figure in the history of Afro-Colombian music. Born in Bebarama, Medio Atrato and later settled in Quibdo, this composer, poet, cabinetmaker, philosopher, is one of the cultural icons of the Colombian Pacific.
He recorded numerous musical productions with labels such as Discos Fuentes, and with great musicians such as Alexis Lozano.

This song was recorded with the label Palenque Records in 2007.

This time we present a classic of classics of this great Maestro,
remixed by Diego Narvaez, well known ecuadorian producer.

El Brujo (the Wizard) is one of the greatest composers of the Colombian Pacific coast, guardian of the African flame and memory of his area, native Chocó.
The legendary griot, ex-member of the band Grupo Niche and writer of the famous "Nostalgia Africana"- later to become one Yuri Buenaventura success, has been waiting 79 years to be recognized.

Alfonso Córdoba´s original compositions integrate a broad pallet of traditional rhythms: abozao, songs of boga (songs of fishermen), kileles, son chocoano, chirimia… (…) whose original inspiration sources were born in Ghana, Nigeria (…) and Europe ! The music from Chocó is strongly influenced by the polka, the contredanse, the minuet, the brass band, and considerable “Africanized” European ryhtms still played nowadays in the magic ground, as a concentration of the three continents History: Africa, Europe and New World.
