New Single by Nkumba System and Palenque Records. This is Bikutsi from afrocolombia, Bikutsi is a rythm from Cameroun, from the Beti People. This tune is a hommage to this great rhythm, and to very special bands as Tetes Brulees, Bisso Solo, Zele le Bombardier and many other Bikutsi bands in Cameroun.

Le mot bikutsi signifierait en ewondo battement de la terre1(bi est une marque du pluriel, kut signifie battre, pulser, et si signifie terre).

Le bikutsi est un rythme à 6/8 pratiqué traditionnellement au Cameroun par les femmes beti. Destiné à guérir les maux, calmer la douleur de la perte d’un être cher, soulager la souffrance, ce rituel est exécuté par les femmes assises sur de minuscules tabourets. Elles chantent et frappent de petits hochets ou des bambous coupés en deux dans le sens de la longueur.

Nkumba System y Palenque Records colaboran para mezclar el sabor afrocolombiano con un ritmo bien particular del Camerún: el Bikutsi.
A la iniciativa de Lucas Silva de Palenque Records, el cantante caucano Víctor Hugo Rodríguez en la voz lead y Makambile desde San Basilio de Palenque fueron invitados a acompañar las guitarras endiabladas de Guillo cros, director de Nkumba System.
Esta canción fue grabada por Daniel Michel en el Estudio Mambo Negro en Bogotá, y mezclado por Alex Figuiera ( Fumaca Preta ), en Ámsterdam.
